A Framework for Concrete Reputation-Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
In a reputation-based trust-management system, agents maintain information about the past behaviour of other agents. This information is used to guide future trust-based decisions about interaction. However, while trust management is a component in security decision-making, few existing reputation-based trustmanagement systems aim to provide any formal security-guarantees. We describe a mathematical framework for a class of simple reputationbased systems. In these systems, decisions about interaction are taken based on policies that are exact requirements on agents’ past histories. We present a basic declarative language, based on purepast linear temporal logic, intended for writing simple policies. While the basic language is reasonably expressive, we extend it to encompass more practical policies, including several known from the literature. A naturally occurring problem becomes how to efficiently re-evaluate a policy when new behavioural information is available. Algorithms for the various languages are presented along with complexity analyses. ∗Supported by SECURE: Secure Environments for Collaboration among Ubiquitous Roaming Entities, EU FET-GC IST-2001-32486. †BRICS, University of Aarhus. متن کاملA collusion mitigation scheme for reputation systems
Reputation management systems are in wide-spread use to regulate collaborations in cooperative systems. Collusion is one of the most destructive malicious behaviors in which colluders seek to affect a reputation management system in an unfair manner. Many reputation systems are vulnerable to collusion, and some model-specific mitigation methods are proposed to combat collusion. Detection of col...
متن کاملA Framework for Building Reputation Systems
This paper introduces a set of principles for governing the design and operation of online reputation systems. We also introduce the design, architecture, and implementation of a flexible, general-purpose framework, called Pythia, for building reputation systems. We give a sample application of our framework to illustrate its use.
متن کاملCredible Reputation Systems for P2P e-Communities
Reputation mechanisms for distributed e-Communities are vital tools for facilitating trust decisions regarding transactions between entities. Motivated by the current challenges in the area of P2P reputation systems regarding their desgign, credibilty enhancement and objective evaluation, in this thesis we worked towards (1) creating a framework for the development and evaluation of secure repu...
متن کاملOn the Simulation of Global Reputation Systems
Reputation systems evolve as a mechanism to build trust in virtual communities. In this paper we evaluate different metrics for computing reputation in multi-agent systems. We present a formal model for describing metrics in reputation systems and show how different well-known global reputation metrics are expressed by it. Based on the model a generic simulation framework for reputation metrics...
